Lately…

In our home, we talk about life in seasons. Many different seasons. There’s the sleep-deprived season of welcoming a new baby into your home, the season of starting your new job, seasons of rest and seasons of celebration. For our family, the last four months have been a season of change.
Since August 1st of this year, we have moved home three times, with three children, we have made significant decisions and changes regarding our church plant and
A season of change? Affirmative.
And not just changing locations. Our family rhythms were disrupted, the way we do life has changed and we have felt rather unsettled. But God has been good and our children have been resilient and our family has been greatly supportive of us.
Amidst all the change, though, we have celebrated two birthdays: our son, who is now four and our baby, who is now one.

All Cohen wanted for his birthday was: “A ride on the blue train … and calamari.” So, we rode the blue train in Moulliepoint and ate calamari.

Can't really tell if Sloane enjoyed the ride on the Blue Train

Mila didn’t necessarily have a list of demands for her birthday, so we just had supper at home with Ouma and Oupa. Pink cupcakes and a new tea set were all this girl needed.

Apparently, although the cupcakes were good...corn on the cob is where it's at!

In between these two celebrations was also an act of heroism gone awry. We’re not entirely sure what transpired, as the story developed and was embellished with each re-telling, but suffice it to say, we rather enjoyed the attention that we received from this shiner.
